Sleep Assault assumes that all laws of contemporary physical sciences are of theoretical character. The difference between them is that fundamental laws have an explanatory function in science and they are idealizational. Since they are ceteris paribus statements, they cannot depict broad domains and instances, to the explanation of which they have been formulated. That is why these laws are false and theoretical explanations put forward on the basis of the laws are fulfilled only within models that describe idealized conditions. Phenomenological laws, in turn, are formulated with the aim of the description of a given phenomenon or a group of phenomena within a certain sleep assault discipline. They are proposed in the wake of experiments or, at least, verified through direct measurements. Because, in contemporary empirical sciences, experimental studies are always theory-laden, phenomenological laws are not observational, or experimental, according to the neo-positivistic recognition of the sleeping sex term.
